P & P - Employee Dress Code

In a booming fashion-oriented business it is imperative that each staff member looks the part. You are a billboard that defines and advertises both the TBM brand and your individual professional brand. You will ultimately sell what you project and attract guests that like your vibe. Whether you are in the salon or out in the community, be aware of your appearance and the message it is advertising to the people who see you.

  • All employees at TBM are encouraged to dress professionally and appropriately for their position.

  • Professional dress that encompasses the beauty industry can range in definition but should promote the employees personality and artists creative expression while remaining professional.

  • Clothing should be clean, in good condition and free from excessive tears, stains, wrinkles, pet fur, and ODORS at all times.

  • The fit of your clothes should allow for the movement required for your position including bending, reaching, lifting, sitting, and standing for long periods of time.

  • Items such as leggings, cropped shirts, and tank tops should be worn with caution and attention to the amount of exposed skin.

  • Shoes can be worn in any color and fashion, must also be clean and in good repair. Open-toe shoes can ONLY be worn if feet and toes are well maintained. Flip flops are NOT appropriate footwear for TBM.

  • Aprons are recommended but not required. The Beaux Monde is not responsible for damage to your clothing whether you do or do not wear an apron.

  • Hair should be clean, with well-maintained color and cut, relevant to trends, and fashionably styled. NO messy buns.

  • Makeup is not required for our employees however if it is one of the services you are providing then you should include it in your look, professionally applied, relevant to trends, and used to showcase your skills. If you choose not to wear makeup, your skin should be well cared for, clean and facial hair groomed.

  • Hands and fingernails are front stage as our main tools. They should be clean & well-manicured.

  • Perfumes and body sprays should be used sparingly as they may be overwhelming or offensive.

  • Hygiene is a large part of your professional presentation and should be held in high priority.

  • Employees must arrive in the salon or on venue meeting dress code standards before clocking in. Event photography is used for promotional and marketing purposes in which employees are representing both their professional brand and the TBM brand and are required to be photo ready.

  • Management reserves the right to clarify the interpretation of the dress code should they feel that an employee's attire is inappropriate for the workplace.

  • Employees failing to adhere to proper salon dress code standards including appearance, grooming and hygiene are in violation of salon policy. Violations will be recorded in the employees file, discussed at coaching meetings and may reflect poorly in the employees performance review affecting promotion or employment eligibility.
